A young man in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh recently won three and a half lakh rupees on the gaming app Dream11. But here, money became the cause of the youth’s death. The youth committed suicide by hanging himself at his home. The family alleged that the son was constantly tortured for money by the goons. The goons of the village wanted to grab the money. He was also beaten. The police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for postmortem. Based on the family’s complaint, the police have registered an FIR against the four accused.
The incident took place in Sarai Khema village of Munshiganj police station area. The name of the deceased youth is Rakesh Yadav. The deceased’s mother Shanti Devi told the police at Munshiganj Kotwali that her son had won Rs 355,000 in Dream 11 a few days ago. After this, Anurag Jaiswal, Tufan Singh, Vishal Singh, Hansraj Maurya of the same village started torturing the son. They often beat him and took the money he kept in his pocket. He was a bully and constantly threatened to kill his son for money.
Police registered a case
Munshiganj SO Premchandra Gautam said that a case has been registered in the entire matter. The case is being investigated. The body has been sent for postmortem. A police team reached the village and spoke to the neighbours. After the death of the son, the tears do not stop from the mother’s eyes.
There is silence in the village. The mother has demanded from the police that strict action should be taken against the accused. A police officer said that no suicide note was found with the dead body. The mobile phone that the youth used to play games on has been claimed from his family.
