According to the police, the incident took place in Alamsaria village under Dhorimanna police station area of ​​Barmer district. The deceased woman has been identified as Jio Devi (40). According to the police, Jio Devi used to watch the ghost reel on mobile throughout the day. As his mental level is weak, he often mumbles while sleeping at night. This led to her husband Chunni Lal’s delusion that his wife was calling spirits in the silence of the night and talking to them for hours.

The daughter was also attacked with an axe.

According to the police, even on Monday night, Jio Devi was muttering something in her sleep. This wakes up her husband Chunni Lal. He picked up an ax lying nearby and attacked his sleeping wife several times on the neck and other parts of her body. This caused his wife to start screaming and his 17-year-old daughter Sumitra came running from the next room and tried to intervene. In such a situation accused Chunni Lal also attacked his daughter with an axe. Due to which she was seriously injured. During the incident, when screams were heard, people gathered around and informed the police.

The woman died during treatment

After this the police reached the spot and took the injured Jio Devi and daughter Sumitra to the hospital. Where Jio Devi died during treatment. While Sumitra’s condition is still fragile. Barmer Superintendent of Police Jasaram Bose said that the accused killed his wife under the influence of illusion. He suspected that his wife connects with spirits through her mobile phone and talks to them for hours. There have been many fights between Jio Devi and Chunni Lal in the past over this issue.
