Inspector arrested for taking bribe

The Uttar Pradesh administration continues to be strict on the bribery issue but still the UP police does not budge. Now a similar act of an inspector of UP Police has come to light. The inspector demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh in exchange for removing the names of two people from the case of fraud and forgery of lakhs in the state’s Bareilly. The vigilance caught the inspector red-handed along with the victim who arrived with the first installment of 50 thousand.

The vigilance team arrested the inspector and took him to Kent police station. After which the accused was produced in the court. After the arrest of the inspector, the police department is in a commotion. The whole matter belongs to Bareilly. Here, a police inspector paid Rs. A bribe of 5 lakhs was demanded.

The inspector was posted at Premnagar Police Station. The inspector was constantly pressurizing the victim that his name would not be removed from the case until he received Rs 5 lakh. After which the vigilance caught the inspector red-handed while taking a bribe of 50 thousand along with the victim who arrived with the first installment of 50 thousand. An FIR under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him at the Kent Police Station.

A case of fraud and forgery was registered two months ago at Kila police station in Bareilly. The police was colluding to drop the names of two people in the case. The entire matter was complained to the SSP. After this, the SSP transferred the investigation of the case to another police station. Inspector Ram Avtar of Premnagar police station was investigating. After which the inspector demanded a bribe of five lakhs. The victim complained about this to the SP Vigilance, whereupon the SP Vigilance prepared a team to trap him and the vigilance team arrested the inspector as soon as the victim arrived with an installment of Rs 50,000.
