Akshay Shinde encounter case

There is no place to bury Akshay Shinde, accused of sexually abusing girls at a school in Maharashtra’s Badlapur. The family is now going to file a plea in the Bombay High Court on Friday through its lawyer seeking a safe place to bury the body.

The Shinde family is demanding a safe place to bury their son in Thane’s Ambernath area. Yesterday, Thursday, the family sat in the Ambernath Municipal Corporation for 3 hours demanding a space, but the corporation did not provide space. If sources are to be believed, the corporation fears that allowing the burial in Ambernath may lead to opposition from the locals.

The dead body is kept in the mortuary for 3 days

Finding a place to bury the body is proving extremely challenging for his family. Local residents and organizations are protesting the burial of bodies in their area. The people of Manjari of Badlapur have already protested against his burial in the village. Now the people of Kalwa near Thane also protested the burial of a deformed person from their community on Thursday and submitted a memorandum to the authorities in this regard.

This is the reason why the body of Akshay Shinde has been kept in the mortuary of Kalwana Shivaji Hospital after postmortem for the last 3 days. The family also filed a petition in the local welfare court yesterday seeking a suitable place to bury the body. And the family has filed an application in the High Court today. Accused Akshay Shinde was killed in retaliatory firing in police custody.

Why the family wants to be buried

Akshay’s uncle Amar Shinde said yesterday that he has not yet chosen a place to bury the body. He said, “We are looking for a suitable place to bury him. Police have called us to show some place. We want to bury the body in a safe place.” He also asked that security be provided to Akshay’s parents and his lawyer as their lives are in danger. For this he has also sent a message to the Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister (Devendra Fadnavis) through email.

Akshay Shinde’s father’s lawyer Amit Katranvare told news agency PTI that he had long ago expressed his wish that he be buried instead of being cremated.

The SIT team investigated the encounter

Meanwhile, the SIT team probing the Akshay Shinde encounter case reached Shivaji Hospital yesterday. Hospital doctors and other staff were interrogated late at night. Earlier, the CID team has also recorded the statements of the officers of the team who confronted the accused Shinde.

Akshay Shinde was accused of sexually abusing two girls at a school in Badlapur in Thane district. He was arrested last month on charges of sexually abusing two girls at a school in Badlapur. Local police said the accused was being taken from Taloja Jail to Badlapur on Monday evening when he tried to escape and shot dead a policeman on Mumbra Bypass near Thane. He was killed in police retaliatory firing. However, questions are being raised regarding this encounter.
