Police traced the hostel operator based on mobile location and nabbed him at Gaighat police station. However, both the woman’s companions escaped by taking advantage of the darkness. The child was safely taken out of the hostel in Gannipur on the alert of the hostel manager. During questioning, the hostel operator said that Priyanshu’s father owed Rs 40,000 in hostel fees and had not paid the money even after his son was kicked out of the hostel. There was a dispute about this. The operator said he had kidnapped the child to collect the money owed. The police captured the child in just four hours.
