When the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched, its objective was to help the poor, weak and helpless farmers. Now a case of fraud has come to light in this scheme too. The names of 24 such people from Manihari block of Gazipur have come up who were availing the benefit of this scheme for the last one year despite having no agricultural land in their name. After its disclosure, there has been a stir in the entire area.
RTI activist M Khalid, a resident of Manihari area, sent a list to the District Magistrate’s Office and the Agriculture Department, identifying around 40 people living in Mohabbatpur village of Manihari block. In which it was alleged that these people do not have land. Despite this PM is taking advantage of Kisan Samman Yojana. The matter came to light when the department investigated his complaint. Out of 40 people, 24 farmers are ineligible. Who do not have even an inch of land.
There has been an explanation after the complaint
In this regard, Deputy Director of Agriculture Department Atindra Singh said that a complaint was lodged in the department. When the complaint was investigated, the matter came up that Satish, Gudiya Devi, Kalavati Devi, Manju Devi, Sr. 24 farmers including Pramod Kumar, Vishal Kumar, Asha, Ajay Kumar, Sonam Kumari, Umesh Kumar, Yashwant Kumar, Amit Kumar. Manish Kumar, Shiv Shankar, Suman Bharti, Bindu Devi, Vishnu, Rita Devi, Chandrika, Ashrafi Devi, Maya Kumari and Vishal Bharti are the beneficiaries who were availing the benefits of the scheme for the last one year. When they had no land of their own. Harendra Kumar was one of these beneficiaries but he has not yet received a single installment of the scheme.
How many benefit?
Atindra Singh said that the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is given following three criteria. In which all the farmers coming to the portal after filtering after land registration, e-KYC and Aadhaar seeding are given the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Because of this, till now about 3 lakh 89 thousand farmers are being given the benefit of this scheme in Gazipur. At the same time, about 36,088 farmers are yet to do eKYC. 23053 farmers have not seeded their accounts with Aadhaar. If e-KYC and Aadhaar seeding of these farmers is done, the number of beneficiaries will increase.
Atindra Singh said that after receiving the complaint, the land registration of all the farmers given by the complainant was done. In the same case, 24 farmers were found to have no land of their own. In such a situation, further benefits of all farmers have been stopped. The department has issued a notice to all the people for recovery of Kisan Samman Nidhi taken by them.
