Allegations of rats in Siddhivinayak temple offerings
A video of the prasad of the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai has surfaced, in which baby rats are seen in the laddu prasad of the temple, after which questions are being raised about the cleanliness and safety of the laddu prasad of the Siddhivinayak temple. After the matter escalated, the temple trust says that the matter will be investigated, but after watching the video, it does not seem that this video inside the temple is visual.
The temple trust says this could be a visual from somewhere else and an attempt to defame the trust. There is no location information available in the video. The trust will clarify its stand in this matter today. Temple Trust president Sada Saravankar said the site shown in the media is not part of the temple complex. The temple has 25 employees to make laddus, who work in round-the-clock shifts.
He said, ‘There is no possibility of such unsanitary conditions. When similar concerns were raised at the Tirupati temple, our premises were also inspected and it was found that perfect cleanliness was maintained by following all safety and hygiene protocols. We take utmost care to ensure cleanliness, especially in the Prasad section.
Attempt to defame – Temple Trust
Sada Sarvankar said, ‘This appears to be an attempt to tarnish our reputation, especially after the announcement of the temple’s beautification project. The temple uses high quality ingredients including premium ghee in its prasad. Every element from water to raw materials is tested in the laboratory before use. Three government officials monitor operations to maintain strict standards. In a viral video, rats are seen in the packet of Mahaprasad Ladoo. At the same time, several packs of rats have been seen biting.
