Delhi Minister Atishi
On the ongoing controversy over flag hoisting in Delhi, Minister Atishi said that on August 15 we hoist the flag for the freedom of democracy, today the elected government is being deprived of its right to hoist the flag. Looks like Delhi has a new Viceroy who says he will hoist the flag. The AAP leader said that hoisting the tricolor is the right of the people of Delhi and the right of the government elected by Delhi. If the elected government is not allowed to hoist the national flag, there can be no greater proof of dictatorship. BJP stands with dictatorship and AAP with democracy.
What else did the AAP leader say?
Atishi said the tricolor is hoisted by an elected government. Being the head of an elected government, the Chief Minister hoists the flag because the Chief Minister is currently in judicial custody, having been jailed in a false case. The Chief Minister had expressed his wish that I should hoist the flag on August 15 as the Minister in his place.
Atishi further said that the Chief Minister had written the letter from Tihar Jail. That Tihar Jail from where every letter of Sukesh reaches the LG. When the Delhi CM’s letter goes to the LG from Tihar Jail, the officer is told that personal letters can go out. No official letter of any kind will be issued. This law is only for Arvind Kejriwal and not for Sukesh Chandrasekhar.

What did Manish Sisodia say?
On the controversy, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that no elected minister should have any difficulty in doing so. However, the Lt Governor’s office has said that no letter has been received from Kejriwal, who is in jail in judicial custody. Tihar Jail officials have said that the letter written by the Chief Minister was not sent to the Lieutenant Governor as it was not allowed as per jail rules.
Sisodia said that it is very unfortunate that such narrow politics is being played on the occasion of Independence Day. The former deputy chief minister said, I have read in the newspapers that when a goon writes a letter to Sukesh, the Tihar administration delivers it to the lieutenant governor’s office. The Lt. Governor also takes immediate action on this, but when the Delhi Chief Minister writes the letter, the Lt. Governor tells the Tihar officials not to send it to him.
