The Congress on Friday announced the first list of 32 candidates for the Haryana assembly elections. Within 24 hours of the announcement of the list, a rebellion has started in the party. Two Congress leaders have resigned. These leaders decided to leave the party after getting upset as their names were not in the list. Among those who resigned, the first name is that of senior Congress leader Kapur Singh Narwal and the second name is that of Rajesh June.

After resigning, Kapoor Singh Narwal called a meeting of his supporters. He is upset that sitting MLA Indu Raj Narwal is again getting ticket from Baroda seat. Now it is being speculated that he may contest as an independent. However, he has said that he will decide the future strategy only after meeting his supporters and taking their opinion. Rajesh June has announced to leave the party, upset with Rajendra Singh June getting ticket from Bahadurgarh. He has resigned from all Congress posts. After resigning, he accused the Congress party of fraud. He says that he will contest the elections as an independent candidate and become an MLA by taking double votes from the Congress candidate.

Congress expressed confidence in the current MLAs

The Congress high command has expressed confidence in 28 of its current 29 MLAs in Haryana and fielded them again. The Congress has also announced the name of its candidate for the ISRA (reserved) seat in Panipat district. After which the names of 32 candidates have been announced in the first list of Congress. As the 32nd candidate, the party has given ticket to sitting MLA Balbir Singh.
