On July 12, while hearing Vibhav’s bail plea, the Delhi High Court rejected his plea. Giving reasons for denying bail, a bench of Justice Anoop Kumar Mendiratta said that the granting of bail could influence witnesses and evidence. Vibhav is in jail in judicial custody. Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet in the case of alleged assault on Swati Maliwal. The Tis Hazari court will hear the case on July 30. According to the Delhi Police, the chargesheet has a total of 500 pages, of which 300 are main pages. Only Vibhav Kumar has been made an accused in the police charge sheet.

The case began on May 13, with Swati accusing Kumar of assaulting and misbehaving with her. She said that on the morning of May 13, she went to Arvind Kejriwal’s house to meet him, after which she was made to wait in the lobby of CM House. She further said that while she was waiting, Kejriwal’s personal secretary approached her and started assaulting her, not only that she alleged that Kumar had also misbehaved with her. Following these allegations by Swati, an FIR was registered against Kumar and he was arrested.

After Swati’s allegations, Kumar also filed a complaint against Swati. He said that Swati forced his way into the CM house, adding that when Swati was thus denied entry into the house and told to wait in the lobby, he started pushing.
