Hit and run cases in Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, are showing no sign of stopping. The latest case is from Versova Beach. Here, two youths in a car carelessly drove the car and crushed two people who were sleeping on the ground. In this incident, one person died on the spot, while another person was seriously injured. The incident took place on Monday morning at around 5.30 am. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and arrested both the accused.
One of the accused has been identified as Bollywood choreographer Shubham Dongre. He is a resident of Mumbai. While his partner is Nikhil Javade, a resident of Nagpur. After necessary interrogation, the police produced both the accused in the court, from where they have been sent to 5-day police custody for further interrogation. Police have seized the accused’s car and sent his blood sample to a forensic lab for testing.
Both the accused were drunk
It is being said that both the accused were drunk at the time of the accident. Police have registered cases of culpable homicide, negligent driving and drunken driving against both. According to Mumbai Police, the deceased has been identified as Ganesh, a rickshaw puller. At the time of the accident, Ganesh and his companion were sleeping on the Barsova beach. According to the police, these two accused were arrested from Igatpuri. Both fled from the spot after the incident. After this, with the help of surveillance, the police chased them and arrested them.
