A brass bell worth 4 lakhs was stolen from the temple
A case of theft and sale of a brass bell worth lakhs of rupees has come to light from Budhiya Mai Dham temple in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Here, on the complaint of the priest, the police have registered a case against seven named accused and are busy investigating the matter. There is an ancient temple of Budhiya Mai i.e. Chaushthi Devi at Baraut in Shahganj Kotwali area. Every year people from all corners of the country come here for darshan and worship. When the wishes are fulfilled, the devotees ring the bell in the court of the Mother. It is alleged that some people have stolen and sold the temple bell.
It is alleged that around 11 am on August 28, seven persons filled a brass bell in a sack from the premises near the temple and started taking it to a pickup. When Omprakash Tiwari, a priest worshiping in the temple, objected to this, the accused abused him and even threatened to kill him. However, after the theft, the accused packed the brass bell worth lakhs of rupees in a pickup and sold it in the market.
The temple priest complained
After this incident, the priest of the temple called Jaunpur Superintendent of Police Dr. Complained to Ajay Pal Sharma. A case has been registered against Sahabalal Gupta, Tripurari, Amarjeet alias Sonu, Ramcharan Bind, Barkhu Bind, Sarvajit and Arjun Nona under Sections 305, 352 and 351(3) of BNS for stealing bells from a temple in Shahganj Kotwali on the orders of SP. Police are busy investigating the matter.
A case was registered against seven accused
Regarding this, Jaunpur Additional Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar Verma said that a case has been registered against seven named accused under various sections based on the complaint of stealing bells from the temple and selling them. Strict action will be taken against the accused after investigation. The matter is currently being investigated. On the other hand, the case of the bell being stolen from the temple has become a topic of discussion in the entire area.
