Vikas Divyakirthi and Ranbir Kapoor
When the film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was released, there was a lot of talk about the concept of toxic masculinity and the alpha male. Ranbir Kapoor was in the lead role in this film. There was a lot of controversy over the alpha male character he played. The film was released in December last year, but is still receiving criticism. Recently, teacher Dr. Vikas Divyakirthi, who often goes viral on social media, again criticized the film. He said that the concept of alpha male applies in the jungle and not in human society.
Vikas Divyakirthi recently gave an interview to a YouTube channel called VR Yuva. During this he talked about gender, alpha male and masculinity. Meanwhile he mentioned the animal. He said, “The character in the movie Animal is very proud of being an alpha male. The concept of alpha male does not apply to human society. This applies to animals, this applies to wolves. Zoologists apply these concepts to wild animals. We have come a long way from the jungle. Those who are stuck in the jungle are trying to be the alpha male. “Those who have come into society from the wild do not need to be alpha males.”
Mentioned fear and man
Meanwhile, Vikas Divyakirthi also mentioned the film Mard. Describing a scene from the film, he said, “The film Mard came when we were young. There were many dirty things in that film. Dara Singh is going. The baby has just been born. A man writes on his chest with a knife…that film says that the man does not feel pain. Our entire childhood was spent in the belief that man should not suffer.”
