The one who inspires us to fight the challenges ahead despite having a hand on our shoulders is Baba… Actor Akshay Mhatre, on the occasion of Father’s Day, talked about his experience of playing the role of a father in the serial ‘Punha Dattu Hai’. He also refreshed sweet memories with his father. He learned many things while playing the role of a father of two little girls in ‘Mei Vai Dattu Ahe’. Akshay said, first of all, I learned patience while working with him and I am saying this in a very positive way.

Playing the role of a father of two daughters…

As we move ahead in life, over the years, selfless love diminishes in us. We speak measuredly and carefully but children don’t have those filters. They don’t act or speak out of any selfishness. All their feelings are pure and that is worth learning, said Akshay Mhatre.

The important thing is that kids learn things quickly and very easily. Onscreen I am a father to Chinu-Manu, but offscreen while having fun with them I am conscious about what I say and how I act because they learn by watching us closely. Akshay also said that being with both of them increases an energy that you become a better person so that they can learn good things from you.

“Our father is a strict disciplinarian”

My relationship with my father is a little different. In my childhood, I did not have such a friendly relationship with my father. My father was a little strict disciplinarian so there was not much conversation between us in childhood and I used to be a little quiet. Our relationship evolved in my early 20s. We started talking on different topics, be it films, politics or daily life events. Now there are times when I talk to my father for hours instead of my mother. There is a lot to learn from Baba, he does a lot even without speaking, he pays full attention to things and if someone needs help or there is a need for something in the house, he pays full attention and fulfills that need, Akshay shared his memories with his father.
