Assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra by the end of this year. Dates may be announced at any time. Due to which preparations of all political parties are going on vigorously. But in the backdrop of the elections, a tussle has started over the distribution of seats in the Mahayuti. According to sources, the NCP under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has demanded more than 60 seats. On behalf of the NCP Ajit Pawar faction, it has been said that his party has the ability to contest and win all these seats. An internal meeting of the Ajit Pawar group was recently held on this entire issue.
According to sources, an important meeting of the Nationalist Congress Party led by Ajit Pawar was held at the residence of Prafull Patel. In this meeting, seat sharing in Mahayuti was discussed. This was an internal meeting of the Ajit Pawar group after meeting Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis. In this meeting, the leaders of Ajit Pawar group expressed their desire to contest elections on more than 60 seats. Sources are also saying that if Ajit Pawar gets 60 to 65 seats, there will be dissatisfaction regarding the distribution of seats in Mahayutti.
Mahayuti vs Maha Vikas Aghadi
After the Lok Sabha elections, the war will be fought between Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi in the assembly elections. Due to which both the parties are currently seen discussing the distribution of seats. Sources have informed that the NCP is now preparing to contest elections on more than 60 seats of the Mahayuti. NCP currently has 54 MLAs. Ajit Pawar has also claimed that three Congress MLAs and three independent MLAs were with him in the meeting.
He also claimed that Congress’ Hiraman Khoskar, Jeeshan Siddiqui and Sulbha Khodke would soon join him. Ajit Pawar said that Shekap independent MLAs Devendra Bhuyar, Sanjay Mama Shinde and Shyamsunder Shinde are also with him. That is why it was being said that Ajit Pawar is preparing to contest in more than 60 seats.
Distribution of assembly seats is going on
According to the information, BJP has decided to contest elections in more than half of the seats. That means BJP will contest on 150 out of 288 seats. So currently discussions are going on regarding the seat sharing in Mahayuti.
