Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Monday named Nationalist Congress Party (NCP Ajit Faction) President and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar as the party’s captain. He also said that Ajit Pawar will contest the next assembly elections only from Baramati seat.
Chhagan Bhujbal’s statement comes a day after Ajit Pawar suggested that Baramati should get a new MLA so that the voters of the constituency understand his importance.
Let us tell you that NCP chief Ajit Pawar is the sitting MLA from Baramati, which is part of the Lok Sabha seat of the same name. Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule is MP from Baramati Lok Sabha seat. Ajit Pawar’s wife contested the Lok Sabha elections from here against Supriya, but she faced defeat.
