Resident of Piprach area Dr. Ramnaresh Chauhan said that he is a doctor in a government hospital. He retired in 2019. Sitting idle at home after retirement was not good. In such a situation, I decided that it would be a good time if I opened a medical store. During my employment, I was posted at the Piprach Community Health Center for some time. In such a situation I decided to open a medical store in this area. Hired a shop for this. A connection of 1 kilo watt was also taken on 14 December 2020 for electricity.

According to Ramnaresh Chauhan, I used to deposit the bill as soon as I got it every month, but still the August bill came to Rs 68 lakh. I couldn’t believe my eyes after seeing the bill. I checked my name there to see if I got someone else’s bill, but I was shocked when I saw my name. Family members and well wishers reassured saying that you have not consumed so much electricity so don’t worry, your problem will be solved. On his request, I started visiting officials office to ask that I had taken a 1 kilo watt connection, how come I got such a high bill.
How did this error occur?
When the department people checked my bill, it was found that it was generated based on the digits of my mobile number, when in fact the meter was running only 3197 units. I was relieved when the investigation confirmed this. After this I am constantly running to get my electricity bill fixed, but still no solution. He says that due to the negligence of the electricity department, such bills can cause heart attacks to people with weak hearts.

Regarding this, the JE of the Electricity Department says that the process of amending the bill has started. It will be repaired soon. Asked at what level the error occurred, he said that the error occurred with the meter reader. He had entered the customer’s mobile number instead of the actual bill, which generated such a high bill. This will be fixed soon.
