Female medical staff undergoing self-defence training ANI
After the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, an initiative has been taken by Delhi Police North West District. Under this, self defense training is being given to women medical staff. This campaign is being run so that women medical staff do not feel any insecurity and they can face every situation with courage.
The initiative has been launched by the Delhi Police North West District at Fortis Hospital in Shalimar Bagh area of the capital. According to reports, this is the first time that women medical staff are being given self-defence training. A seven-day self-defence training program has been launched at Fortis Hospital in collaboration with the Delhi Police’s Transformation Cell.
More than 600 women medical personnel are being trained
In fact, a seven-day self-defense training program has been launched at Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh in collaboration with the Puritan Cell of Delhi Police North West. Through this program, necessary training is being given to the medical women staff for self-defense. The initiative is being taken in view of the recent unfortunate incident at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
Through this programme, more than 600 women medical personnel are being trained in various techniques required for self-defense. These include skills such as punches, elbow strikes, blocking, eye attacks, freeing yourself from hair and hand holds. Besides, during the training, they will also be taught to effectively use the improvised weapons they use every day, so that they can protect themselves in any dangerous situation.
Such programs will increase the morale of women staff.
According to Deepak Narang, facility director of the hospital, more than 600 women medical staff, who are deployed in various departments, are being trained in self-defence. This initiative was taken by North West District DCP Jitendra Meena of Delhi Police. After he spoke to Fortis Hospital, this self-defense training began.

This program has been started with an aim to create more awareness among women medical staff working in hospitals. Such programs will increase the morale of women staff. So the same female medical staff who are taking self-defense training say that a woman should take it so that she can protect herself. This training will help them a lot. At the same time, social activist Neeraj Tomar said there are plans to run it in other hospitals in Delhi as well.
