Demand for demolition of mosque in Kusumpati

For some time now, action has been taken against illegal mosques in many areas of the state, including Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Now there has been a demand to demolish the illegal mosque in Kusumpati in the state. BJP leader Rakesh Sharma and councilor Rachna Sharma submitted a memorandum that the mosque built in Kusumpati is illegal and built on central government land.

According to him, this mosque was inaugurated in 2016-17. He said that the then Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was also invited to inaugurate this mosque, but he did not attend its inauguration ceremony as the mosque was built on illegal land. For this reason, this mosque should be demolished as soon as possible.

Strangers come to pray

BJP leader Rakesh Sharma alleged that according to the Waqf Board Act, the number of Muslim families has been fixed, in which a mosque can be built in the area only after 40 Muslim families are living there. He says that the number of Muslim families living in nearby areas like Kusumpati, New Shimla, Bailia etc. is less. In such a situation, the people who come to the mosque during Friday prayers are those who do not live nearby. Most of the people praying in the mosque are strangers. In such a situation, the mosque built in this area is illegal and should be demolished.

An alert has been sounded in Sanjauli

The dispute over the mosque built near Sanjauli in the state itself has become more intense. An alert has been issued to avoid any untoward incident in view of Friday prayers. It has been instructed not to gather any kind of crowd around the mosque. Security forces have been deployed at every corner. Checking has been conducted at various places. People coming to the border area are being checked. Security forces have been alerted especially on the Himachal border.
