BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay
A junior doctor was raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College on August 9, following which justice for Kolkata’s Nirbhaya has been going up across the state. Meanwhile, when BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay reached the protest site, slogans of Go Back started being raised.
Junior doctors of RGkar Medical College, Lal Bazar, Kolkata, are on strike after the brutality of the state’s daughter in the hospital and the protesting doctors should come and talk to the state police commissioner Vineet Goyal at the protest site. Also, the junior doctors are demanding that the police commissioner should resign.
The junior doctor raised slogans of “go back”.
On Monday night, when Bharatiya Janata Party MP and former judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay arrived at the protest site to meet the protesters, the protesting junior doctors chanted “Go back, go back”.
Abhijit Gangopadhyay gave an interview after reaching the protest site and said, I have come here as a resident of this city. He said that I am not against these protesters but with them. Abhijit Gangopadhyay further said, he said that these people are protesting, that’s why they could not recognize why I came here and they misunderstood my coming to the protest site.
“Commissioner must come”
BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay said, I am not a political person at all. He also said that the police commissioner must come to the protest site, they are not all miscreants, but there are doctors, junior doctors, the police commissioner must come. He said, why is the police commissioner making these people wait for so long, why they have not come yet.
The CBI arrested the former principal
Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, has been arrested by the CBI on charges of corruption. On which Abhijit Gangopadhyay said, this is absolutely right. He further targeted the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that now I am waiting for CBI to interrogate CM Mamata Banerjee who is also behind the principal.
Former Principal of RG Kar Medical College Sandeep Ghosh has been arrested by the CBI on Monday. CBI has taken this action against Sandeep Ghosh in the corruption case. Before this, CBI was interrogating Ghosh continuously for 15 days. Apart from Acharya Ghosh, CBI has arrested 3 more people.
