The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi is all set to fight air pollution in winter. To mount a strong fight against pollution, Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Wednesday announced a 21-point Winter Action Plan. Meanwhile, he said that the Delhi government will strictly implement it, so that the people of Delhi can be saved from the problem of pollution in the winter season.
Regarding the scheme, Gopal Rai said that the level of pollution has improved a lot over the last several years due to the hard work of the people of Delhi and the concerned departments. Pollution has reduced by about 34.6 percent. This time too the Delhi government is fully prepared in this war against pollution. He said that under the Winter Action Plan, pollution hot spots in Delhi will be monitored by drones for the first time.
Formation of Special Task Force
The government has constituted a 6-member special task force to monitor and prevent pollution. He said odd-even and artificial rainfall have been kept in focus as emergency measures. Also work from home will be encouraged. At the same time, if pollution increases, this Grade Response Action Plan will be strictly implemented. In this, the government will work better with the central government and neighboring states.
Ban on open burning of garbage
Along with this, more than 5,000 acres of farms in Delhi will be sprayed with free Bio D-Camphor this time. Construction sites will be strictly monitored and vehicular pollution will be reduced and open burning of garbage will be banned. Minister Gopal Rai said that pollution level has reduced by 34.6 percent due to 10 historic efforts of the Delhi government. He said that in the year 2016 there were 243 days of pollution, it has reduced to 159 days in 2023.
The government will work with this plan
Under the Winter Action Plan, the government will launch an anti-dust campaign from October 7 to reduce dust pollution. This will also include action plans for construction sites. 523 teams have been formed to ensure compliance with dust control regulations. The government is going to deploy 85 road sweeping machines and 500 water spraying machines to tackle road related dust pollution.
Said this about the odd-even system
Gopal Rai said that the construction agency which will do excellent work following environmental norms will be honored with the Harit Ratna Award. He also said that in the month of November, mobile anti-smog guns will be deployed on the roads in one shift to three shifts. For this, 200 mobile anti-smog guns will be installed. He also said that odd-even system can be implemented in Delhi too if required. All concerned departments have been asked to be ready for this.
