If you have not availed this free service linked to the Aadhar card, it will be too late otherwise. This free Aadhaar service will end on September 14. In fact, Aadhaar cards issued more than ten years ago and not updated subsequently will require identity and address proof documents for revalidation. Its last date has been set as September 14. After the deadline, the UIDAI will charge a fee of Rs 50 for any update.

In Aadhaar authentication, the Aadhaar number along with demographic or biometric information needs to be submitted to the UIDAI’s Central Identity Data Repository i.e. CIDR for verification. The UIDAI then certifies the accuracy of the data on the basis of the information available with it.

How to use the free service

  1. Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  2. Please review the identity and address details listed on your profile.

  5. Select the documents you wish to submit for identity and address verification from the drop-down menu.
  6. Upload the selected documents. What’s special is that before uploading the documents, check that each file is less than 2 MB in size and is in JPEG, PNG or PDF format.
  7. Please review the information and submit to update your Aadhaar details.
