Arrangement of Prasad in Mahakal Temple
A decision has been taken to install a Prasad ATM in the famous Mahakal Temple of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. As soon as the money is put in this machine, the prasad bag will come out. The prasad will be available in 100 gm, 200 gm, 500 gm and 1 kg bags. The temple management has decided to make this new arrangement keeping in view the ever-increasing crowd at the prasad counter. At present, the temple provides prasad from 8 counters, but the situation worsens here during Teej festivals.
In such circumstances the devotees have to face many difficulties to take prasad. Mahakal temple administrator Ganesh Dhakad said that a devotee from Delhi has asked to donate this prasad to the ATM temple. These machines will be introduced at all the 8 counters already running. Later, according to the situation, increasing their number will also be considered. After installing these machines, the devotees coming here will not have to wait much longer for the prasad.
Ladles up to 50 quintals are made
He said that after installation of Prasad ATM, devotees will not have to face rush here. Not only this, these machines will remain functional even after the temple is closed and devotees can easily get prasad of that value by depositing the prescribed amount in the machine as per their convenience. According to the temple management, more than 50 quintals of gram flour laddu prasad is prepared daily and then distributed to the devotees from all the 8 counters.

Prasad is distributed from 8 counters
After the introduction of Prasad ATMs, these laddus will be distributed through machines instead of counters. According to the temple management, prasad is easily distributed at the eight counters on normal days, but during festivals and the month of Sawan, the crowd is heavy. In such circumstances, a situation like pushing and shoving is created at these counters. Apart from this there is often confusion regarding different weights of Prasad, but the new system will relieve all the hassles. After installing the Prasad ATM, the price of each weight of Prasad will be written and a Prasad bag of that weight will come out as soon as the prescribed amount is inserted into the machine.
400 rupees per kg rate
Presently the rate of Prasad available in Mahakal Mandir is 400 rupees per kg. On normal days, the temple management sells 30 to 40 kg of prasad. At the same time, during festivals, consumption of prasad exceeds 50 quintals. According to the temple management, prasad is offered for the Mahakal temple near Chintaman temple outside the city. It was from here that 5 lakh laddus were prepared and sent to Ayodhya at the time of Abhishekam of Ramlala.
