A huge quantity of English liquor has been seized from the carriage of the Vadodara Sealdah Special train in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. Mirzapur GRP seized liquor during checking. Miscreants used to carry different brands of liquor in the AC and sleeper coaches of the train. Police recovered a total of 24 bags full of liquor which were hidden in the battery box in the train coach. Barcode of Prayagraj is printed on liquor bottles. The police have taken this action in a special train going from Vadodara Junction to Sealdah. Now the police have arrested the liquor smuggler and he is being interrogated.

Based on the informer’s information, GRPA stopped the train and found a total of 24 bags in four bogies. These bags were filled with different brands of English liquor.

Liquor was kept in the battery box

When Vadodara Sealdah Special Train 03110 down reached Mirzapur railway station at 4:30 pm on Friday, the train was halted here for a long time even though there was no stoppage there. After this the GRP inspected all the bogies. Bags full of English liquor were recovered from AC B1, B2 and sleepers 9 and 10. The smugglers kept some bags under the seats and some in the battery box. 24 bags contained liquor of different brands as follows.

What did the police say?

Mirzapur GRP in-charge Ram Dawar Yadav said that an accused has been arrested during checking in the Vadodara Sealdah special train. The accused has been identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Vihitapur Police Station, Camp District, Patna, Bihar. 24 sacks of illegal English liquor were found near him which were smuggled on the train. Barcode of Prayagraj has been affixed on seized liquor.
