Accused of murder in police custody.
A sensational case of murder has come to light in Mumbai’s Kurla area. Here a friend killed his friend over 30 rupees. The dispute was over auto rickshaw fare. The killer and the deceased are residents of Gonda in Uttar Pradesh. After the murder, the accused escaped. Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested the accused from Kalyan railway station.
The accused was handed over to the Kurla police. After which he was asked the reason for the murder. The accused confessed to the murder and narrated the entire incident. Both were friends of each other and had come to Mumbai for work a few days ago. Both youths were drunk when the incident took place. Police have sent the body for postmortem. When action has been taken against the accused, he has been sent to jail.
Reached Mumbai to work from Gonda of UP
According to Mumbai Police, both Chakkan and Zahid were friends. He is a resident of the same village in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh. Both had come to Mumbai for work and were working in a garment factory. On the night of the incident, both the youths were going somewhere in an auto rickshaw. The driver asked him for a fare of Rs 30. There was an argument between the two regarding the auto rickshaw fare and they started fighting each other. In anger, Zahid beat up Chakkan. During the fight, Zahid pushed Chakkan which caused him to fall to the ground.
Accused arrested from Kalyan railway station
After falling on the ground, Chakkan started bleeding, seeing which Zahid got scared and ran away. The police received information that a young man was lying in a pool of blood on the road. The police took the injured youth to the hospital. Doctors declared him dead. The police scanned the CCTV cameras of the incident site. In one or two footages, a youth was seen fighting with the deceased. The police formed teams to nab the accused. Here, after the murder, accused Zahid Gonda escaped by train and reached Kalyan railway station, where he was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch. Accused Zahid was handed over to Kurla police.
