The case dates back 34 years, in 1990, Havildar Suresh Prasad Singh took a bribe of Rs 4 from a woman named Sita Devi who was bringing a pot of vegetables to Saharsa railway station. The railway police caught him. The accused Havildar is a resident of Barhia in Munger district. He was posted at Saharsa railway station. During this time on duty he was caught red-handed accepting bribes. Judge Sudesh Srivastava of the Special Surveillance Court has asked the DGP to present him.
The special judge wrote in his letter that the Patna High Court has taken the issue of the pending case seriously, as the accused hawaldar is absconding since 1999, an arrest warrant and asset seizure order has also been issued against him. The police have not been able to finish yet. The court has asked the bribe-taking constable to appear soon to speed up the case.
Dodging by changing address
After registering the case, the constable wrote his address as Maheshkhut Baijanathpur, Saharsan Munger to mislead the police. Whereas, the real address of the accused havildar was village Bijay in Badhia police station area of ​​Munger district. After the matter reached the DGP level, the manipulation of the accused constable was caught and now an arrest warrant has been issued for him. Bihar Police is once again responsible for the arrest of the accused Havildar and is expected to appear in court.
