Veteran Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor has ruled the hearts of people for a long time by acting in 174 films. Shashi Kapoor bid farewell to this world at the age of 79 with his best films. Shashi Kapoor took his first step into the world of films as a child actor. Even today people love his films. His name is discussed everywhere, but initially he was not named.
He was born on March 18, 1938 in the Kapoor family of Calcutta. His father’s name was Prithviraj Kapoor and mother’s name was Ramsharni Mehra Kapoor. At birth, Shashi Kapoor was named Balbir Raj Kapoor, as per Kapoor family tradition. However, her mother did not like this name, so she started calling her Shashi. His mother named him Shashi because at that time he was looking at the moon. Later people started to know him as Shashi Kapoor.
His mother used to call him ‘flaky’.
Shashi Kapoor revealed a shocking thing while giving an interview to journalist Priya Warrier in the year 1955. Shashi Kapoor said that her mother did not want to give birth to her. He revealed that his mother called him ‘flaky’ because he was unplanned. Shashi Kapoor had four children earlier. She also tried to have an abortion many times, sometimes she would fall off the bicycle and sometimes she would jump the rope, but finally in 1938 she gave birth to me.

Shashi Kapoor made his debut as a child actor in the year 1948 with the film ‘Aag’. The film was his brother Raj Kapoor’s directorial debut. After this, he made his debut as a lead actor in Yash Chopra’s film ‘Dharmaputra’ in the year 1961. Shashi Kapoor was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2011 and the Padma Bhushan, the highest honor of Indian cinema. He died at the age of 79 after a long illness.
