What if Irrfan Khan had become Chulbul Pandey?

Salman Khan has his own place in Bollywood. He is not only the bhaijan of Bollywood but also one of the few actors who still has the ability to make movies hit with his stardom. There was a time when this charm of Salman was lost somewhere. Many of his films flopped, but then there was one film that gave Salman a new name and that was the 2010 film ‘Dabangg’.

In ‘Dabangg’, Salman played the role of police inspector ‘Chulbul Pandey’ and opposite him was Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi Sinha, whose debut film was this. In this film Salman’s character Chulbul was liked a lot. Everything about Chulbul’s character struck a chord with Salman’s fans, be it his body or the way he walks. Chulbul wearing glasses behind his shirt became such a hit that at that time people started calling it Chulbul style.

Salman was not the first choice

Overall, Salman Khan’s Dabangg style and powerful dialogues created a stir everywhere… But did you know that Salman Khan was not the director’s first choice for Dabangg. The role was actually to be given to the late Irrfan Khan and Dabangg was to be a serious film and not an action comedy. The film’s producer and the superstar’s brother Arbaaz Khan himself revealed that his brother Salman was not the first choice for the 2010 release Dabangg.

Arbaaz narrated the story

Arbaaz said that director Abhinav Kashyap wants to cast either Irrfan Khan or Randeep Hooda in the film. Abhinav had made up his mind to cast Irrfan in the film, but it could not happen. Arbaaz Khan during a conversation with Mumbai Mirror said that when Abhinav came to him with the script of the film and after reading it he liked the script very much, Arbaaz asked him which character do you want to give me and Abhinav said that you too would like the role of Makki. After this, when Chulbul’s role was discussed, Abhinav told him that he wanted to cast Irrfan Khan in the film. Although Abhinav was not very agreeable at first, he also agreed after Salman Khan agreed to the role and Salman played the role of Chulbul in the film.
