Weather in India these days seems to be unhappy with Team India and New Zealand. Only rain seems to be interfering with the Test match between the two teams. Just a few days ago, rain ruined 3 days of the Test match played between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur. Earlier, the match between New Zealand and Afghanistan in Greater Noida was canceled without even starting. Now these two teams are clashing with each other and the start is also lost due to rain. The first day of the Test series between India and New Zealand in Bengaluru was washed away due to rain. Now an attempt will be made to start the game on the next day and for this the timing has also been changed and it will start 15 minutes earlier.

The first match of the series was scheduled to start on Wednesday, October 16 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium but rain was predicted from the start. It had rained a day before and all the 5 days of the match are likely to rain. This prediction proved correct on the first day and the sometimes heavy and sometimes light rain did not allow the ground to dry and the match to start. Due to which the match was not even tossed and the day’s play was called off around 2.30 pm.

Now it is hoped that rain will not be a hindrance on the next day and the match can start. The BCCI said in a tweet that everything will start the next morning 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. That means the toss will be at 8.45 instead of 9.00 and then the match will start at 9.15 instead of 9.30. This is being done to make up for a small portion of the 90 over game that was ruined on the first day. Similarly, if the weather remains clear throughout the day, the day’s play can be extended beyond the scheduled time, so that maximum overs can be bowled.

As far as the weather is concerned, there is no forecast of rain on the morning of the next day, Thursday, October 17. This is unlikely to happen until at least 10 pm. A 30 to 40 percent chance of showers after 10 p.m. In such a situation, if the play starts on the next day, there may be interruptions from time to time. However, cricket action can still be seen if this rain does not continue like on Wednesday.
