The southwest monsoon reached Kerala on May 30, ahead of schedule. Monsoon has reached Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, West Bengal and North Eastern states. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that monsoon is likely to reach other states soon.
Possibility of pre-monsoon rain in Mumbai
According to IMD, monsoon may arrive in Maharashtra including Mumbai by June 10. Pre-monsoon rain is likely in Mumbai soon. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with thunder in Mumbai between June 6 and June 10. According to Skymet, this week is going to be good for Mumbai in terms of rain. There is a possibility of pre-monsoon rain before the arrival of monsoon. Due to which Mumbaikars will get to experience cold weather.
After Kerala, monsoon has also entered Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, the temperature in Delhi and other northern states is still hot. Therefore, they are also likely to get relief by June 15.
Mumbai will be cloudy
The effect of western winds is being seen over the Arabian Sea. Therefore, there is a possibility of cloudy weather in Mumbai for the next 3 to 4 days. There is a possibility of relief from temperature due to cloudy sky. There is a possibility of light rain. Monsoon is progressing rapidly. Therefore, the Meteorological Department has said that the monsoon will enter Gujarat on June 15.
There is a possibility of light rain in Mumbai this week. A cyclone may form in the Arabian Sea near the Konkan coast on June 7. In such a situation, there is a possibility of rain in Mumbai between June 7 and 10.

According to Skymet, this pre-monsoon rain will be limited to the Goa-Konkan coast. Some parts of central Maharashtra may receive rain. But it will not reach other parts of Maharashtra. Coastal cities of Goa, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Alibaug, Mumbai, Thane and Dahanu may receive light rain.
