Punjab: Water Resources Minister Chetan Singh Jodamajra inspects Bhakra Dam, instructs officials

Punjab Water Resources Minister Jodamajra said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is emphasizing on conserving underground water. He said that with this campaign people will not have any shortage of drinking water. He said that canal water should be utilized to the maximum for irrigation and industries.

Speaking to the media, Jodamajra said that all arrangements are being made for the proper use of canal water in the state. Repair of canals as per requirement is also scheduled from time to time. He also reiterated the commitment of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to complete the recruitment of Punjab’s share against Punjab’s quota vacancies in BBMB.

After this Cabinet Minister Chetan Singh Jodamajra visited Bhakra Nangal Dam and reviewed its maintenance and water level. He also inspected power generation and saw the state-of-the-art museum. He held a meeting with the officials and gave necessary guidance and got information about the entire process of the dam. After this, the Cabinet Minister also planted a memorial tree.

On this occasion BBMB Chief Engineer C.P. Singh, Deputy Chief Engineer H.L. Kamboj, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vikas Sanjiv Kumar, S.D.M. Anamjot Kaur, D.S.P. Manjit Singh, Tehsildar Sandeep Kumar, Executive Engineer Harjot Singh Walia and P.R.O. Satnam Singh was also present.
