Indian Administrative Service (IAS) trainee officer Pooja Khedkar, who is embroiled in controversy, is under investigation after her fake disability certificate came to light. Pooja Khedkar is alleged to have taken advantage of the OBC non-creamy layer in the UPSC examination by claiming that her parents were divorced. Not only Pooja but also her parents are surrounded by controversies.
A video of Pooja Khedkar’s father Dilip Khedkar and his wife Manorama Khedkar went viral regarding the land dispute, in which the issue of threatening farmers with guns came to light. In this case, the court has granted anticipatory bail to father Dilip Khedkar on Friday. However, Pooja Khedkar’s mother Manorama Khedkar has been arrested in this case. In the video, Manorama Khedkar was seen brandishing a gun during a land dispute, following which a case was registered against both the husband and wife.
Bail has been granted on this condition
Advocate Sudhir Shah said that the court has said in its order that the charge of attempted murder is not on Dilip Khedkar but on Manorama Khedkar. The lawyer said that the judge granted the bail on the condition that Dilip Khedkar would not contact the witnesses in the case, try to influence them and cooperate with the investigating agency.
Allegations against Pooja Khedkar
Pooja Khedkar is alleged to have said in several mock interviews that her parents were divorced and based on that she availed the OBC non-creamy layer. He is alleged to have claimed during his mock interviews at different academies in Delhi that his family income was zero. The basis of this claim was that his parents are divorced and he lives with his mother.
A report on the parents’ divorce was sought
After this claim of Pooja Khedkar, the central government has ordered the Pune police to provide information about the marital status of Pooja Khedkar’s parents. Following the central government’s order, the police have sent a report on the parents’ marital status to the Maharashtra government. A police officer gave this information on Friday. The couple Dileep and Manorama Khedkar are legally separated and divorced, the police officer said. The official said, We have sent the report to the state government on Wednesday and it will be forwarded to the Centre.
