Rain in Delhi
The Delhi government has made a big announcement regarding the death due to rain in Delhi. The Delhi government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each to all the deceased. This announcement was made by Delhi Revenue Minister Atishi. He said that ACS Revenue has been instructed to verify all the dead. He has been asked to give this amount to the families of the deceased at the earliest. Atishi has said in the order letter issued in the name of ACS Revenue that there was heavy rain in Delhi on June 28.
228 mm of rain was recorded in just 24 hours. Due to which many people have died in different areas of Delhi. In some places people died due to drowning and in other places due to building collapse. In view of these incidents, he has asked ACS Revenue to identify all such dead people. For this, after collecting input from Delhi Police and Delhi hospitals and after identification, assistance amount of Rs 10 lakh has been asked to be provided in the account of their family members as soon as possible.

He has clearly stated in his letter that this amount is not compensation for anyone’s life, but this amount will help the victim’s family to overcome their grief and start their life afresh.
