Pune News: A routine school election at a Zilla Parishad school in Papalwadi, Pune’s Khed taluka, took a violent turn as students clashed over coveted leadership positions. The incident, which occurred on Friday, saw heated confrontations escalating to physical altercations where students reportedly smashed each other’s heads, leaving several injured.
The school had organized student cabinet elections to educate students about democratic processes and promote school governance. However, tensions flared as students vied aggressively for key positions like Chief Minister, Education Minister, and others. Allegations of financial inducements surfaced ahead of the elections, adding fuel to the competitive atmosphere.
Following the election of a girl as Chief Minister, a dispute spilled onto the streets outside the school, resulting in students pelting stones and exchanging blows. The aftermath saw injuries, including head and hand wounds, prompting parental concerns and complaints to school authorities the next day.
