Suspected Radioactive California Recover, 3 Accused Arrested
Suspected radioactive substance California was seized in Bihar’s Gopalganj district last Friday. Along with this, it is now coming to light that this matter is connected with Uttar Pradesh. The police have started an investigation. Meanwhile, a team from Bhabha Atomic Research Center from Mumbai reached Gopalganj on Saturday evening to investigate California and started the investigation. However, due to the sensitive nature of the matter, the police officials cannot say anything openly on the matter.
According to information, after the recovery of suspected radioactive substance California, Bihar STF’s investigation has also revealed the Uttar Pradesh connection. It is being said that the name of Kushwaha, treasurer of UP’s Kushinagar district, has come up in the investigation in this case. It was the cashier Kushwaha who gave the radioactive substance to the caught smugglers. The subject of investigation is where this radioactive material came from cashier Kushwaha, who is absconding after the incident. A police team is conducting raids in UP to reveal this.
The traffickers were sent to prisons under tight security
After registering the FIR, the police sent the three traffickers arrested in this case to the jail under tight security. Among those arrested are Chhotalal Prasad, son of Chandradev Prasad, resident of Parsauni in Tamkuhiraj police station area of Kushinagar district, Chandan Gupta, son of Yogendra Sah, resident of Kaushalya Chowk in Nagar police station area of Gopalganj and Chandan Ram. Son of Harendra Ram resident of Kushar Mathia in Mohammadpur Police Station area.

‘Youths were called to work’
The police have also interrogated the family members of the arrested youth. According to the Gopalganj-based youth’s family, Chhotalal Prasad, a resident of UP’s Kushinagar, called the two youths for work, but he did not know that the youth would be trained to smuggle such radioactive material. During questioning, the youth said that he had no information about the seized substance.
The substance was kept in a high security zone
Police suspect the seized substance to be from California. However, a team from Bhabha Atomic Research Center from Mumbai reached Gopalganj late in the evening for the investigation. The radioactive material seized by the police is kept in a high security zone. Bihar ATS has contacted the Gopalganj police and got information about the FIR registered and the youth arrested in the case.
The price is estimated at 850 crore rupees
In fact, last Friday, 50 grams of this suspected radioactive substance was recovered from UP-Bihar’s Balthari check post by the police of Kuchaikot police station in Gopalganj. Which was being carried by three smugglers. It is being said that the price of this dubious California in the international market has been estimated at around Rs 850 crore.
