The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a circular to all teachers in primary schools of the Basic Education Department to register their attendance online from July 8. After the announcement of this circular, the teachers have started protesting it continuously. They are protesting against this decision of the government by tying black bands at various places. Meanwhile, 70 teachers of various schools in Mohammadabad, Ghazipur have resigned from the post of group teachers.

Teachers say that the water level of rivers is continuously increasing due to rain. Water has started entering the villages. In such a situation schools will also be surrounded by flood water. After this it will be difficult to reach schools. How to register online presence in such difficult situation? A protesting teacher said that we have no problem with online presence in schools, but our basic problem should also be solved. As transfers and promotions are pending for years.

Teachers told their problems

A teacher said that one has to go to school through bad roads. Due to which teachers are becoming victims of road accidents every day. The leave rules should have EL and half day leave, which is not there.

Group teachers belonging to 14 Nyaya Panchayats who reached BRC said that they are not only registering their attendance online, but following all the instructions issued by the government. Despite this, efforts are being made to suppress and weaken the movement. BRC officials are harassing teachers in the name of inspection. The teachers said they will continue teaching, but have decided to resign en masse in protest against the government’s digital presence. The teachers submitted their resignations to Block Education Officer Dinanath Sahni.

When the Basic Education Officer Hemant Rao was spoken to in this matter, he said that he had no information about such mass resignations. Also said that this post is given to five teachers in each Nyaya Panchayat to do departmental work in rural areas, in which important work is to fill U DIAS form.

The teachers held a meeting in Mehmedabad regarding this. Rajiv Kumar Ojha, Manohar Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, Keshari Kumar Rai, Rajiv Pradhan, Balaji Rai, Ashish Kumar Rai, Jharkhand Yadav, Priya Pandey, Banshidhar Rai, Lallan Singh Yadav etc. were present in this meeting.
