513 men from UP have identified themselves. The Madrasa Board has sent the Registrar for this action. Most of these madrassas are getting recognition from the Basic Education Council. With this they will now be converted from madrasas to schools. 513 madrasas in Uttar Pradesh have applied for withdrawal of recognition from the State Madrasa Education Council (Madrasa Board). The relevant proposal was given the green light in the council meeting on Tuesday.
The board said around 513 madrassas from several districts of the state have applied for withdrawal of recognition from the council. A motion to this effect is authorized to the Registrar of Council for further action at the meeting. Madrasa Education Council member Qamar Ali, who was present in the meeting, said that 513 madrasas of the state had applied to surrender the recognition given to them by the council, which was decided in today’s meeting.
That is why madrasas are withdrawing recognition
Madrassas have applied for withdrawal of accreditation for various reasons. The most important reason for this is the new accreditation process from the Madrasa Education Council. Which is quite difficult. Earlier madrasas were recognized at the level of the District Minority Welfare Officer, but now this power has been given to the Registrar. Even before this, the state government had decided to make biometric attendance mandatory for madrasa teachers and students.
There are about 25 thousand madrasas in Uttar Pradesh
The education council member said, ‘Madrassas have to renew their accreditation in a certain period, which is now a very difficult process. Madrasahs have to educate their children. Therefore, many of those madrassas have received accreditation from the Basic Education Council. There are about 25 thousand madrasas in Uttar Pradesh. About 16 thousand 500 madrasas are recognized by the State Madrasa Education Council.
8500 madrasas are not recognized
Of these, 560 madrasas receive grants from the state government while around 8500 madrasas are unrecognized. According to a Madrasa Education Council statement, the meeting also passed a proposal to make the process related to recognition of madrasas online. Under this, complaints about Madrasa employees can now be made to the District Minority Welfare Officer. Besides this, the registrar was instructed in the meeting to send the proposal to the government to increase the budget of the Madrasa Education Council.
