Those 5 bureaucrats joined JDU and flopped in politics

Former IAS officer Manish Verma has joined Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United. There is a lot of political speculation about Verma, but do you know what happens to officers who join JDU? 5 big bureaucrats have joined Nitish Kumar’s party in the last 14 years, but none have achieved full political status.

The party gave posts to one or two bureaucrats, but eventually they too were sacked. Veteran bureaucrats who once joined the JDU are now either sitting at home or singing bhajans.

In this story, let us read the story of these bureaucrats in detail.

Gupteshwar Pandey – left politics and became Baba

In the year 2020, then DGP Gupteshwar Pandey joined Janata Dal United by taking VRS. At that time, there was talk that Pandey would contest from Bihar’s Buxar seat. However, at the last minute, Nitish Kumar refused to give him the ticket.

Gupteshwar wanted to join the Rajya Sabha after this, but his interest in the JDU did not go down well here either. Finally Gupteshwar said goodbye to politics. After this Gupteshwar started narrating Bhagavata Katha. Currently, Pandey is a storyteller and the songs sung by him go viral.

Gupteshwar, a 1987 batch IPS officer, hails from Buxar, Bihar. During his posting in Bihar, he made many headlines with his style of work.

Asked about getting nothing from JDU, he once said – I don’t understand politics, especially Nitish Kumar.

RCP Singh- spends days in the village

RCP Singh, an IAS officer of UP cadre, joined JDU in 2010. After joining the JDU, Ramchandra Prasad Singh of Nalanda began to be counted as Nitish Kumar’s successor.

Because of Nitish, Singh first went to the Rajya Sabha and then was officially given the post of number-2 in the JDU. After the 2019 elections, Nitish Kumar handed over the reins of JDU to RCP. He was the national president of JDU for about a year.

He became a minister at the center after the 2020 assembly elections, but only then did his countdown begin. The JDU distanced itself from him in 2022. Officially, the party accused RCP Singh of betraying Nitish.

After being expelled from JDU, RCP joined BJP, but his political career did not take off as Nitish attacked again. Currently he lives in his own village Mustafapur in Nalanda.

Pawan Varma- Once there was Hanuman, now not even a name.

1976 batch IFS officer Pawan Kumar Verma has also been in JDU. In the year 2014, she tied the knot with Nitish Kumar. Verma was also called Nitish Kumar’s Hanuman in Bihar politics at that time.

As soon as he joined the JDU, Nitish sent Verma to the Rajya Sabha. He held this position till 2016. After 2016, Verma was sent to the JDU organization. In the year 2020, Verma left Nitish’s side.

Verma also visited Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool party for a few days, but was not interested there either. Currently, Verma writes books and also participates in lectures.

Lalan G- Not even got ticket, now in Naprithya

In the year 2019, retired IAS Lalan Ji, a resident of Katihar, joined the JDU. Lalan, a 2000 batch IAS officer, was also considered close to Nitish. After Lalan Ji left JDU, it was being said that he might get a bigger post.

It was also discussed that Lalan will contest from Katihar. Because he has been the DM here twice, although he was not given a ticket in the 2020 assembly elections as well. After the 2020 elections, Lalanji disappeared from the pages of newspapers.

Currently there is no search and news about Lalan Ji. Also their news is not shown in media. Recently there was news of Lalan ji’s association with Prashant Kishor.

KP Ramaiah – If you lose an election you are out

Before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, IAS officer KP Ramaiah was associated with Nitish Kumar. Ramaiah was a 1986 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre. Before joining politics, Ramaiah was the Principal Secretary of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Department of Bihar.

In 2014, Ramaiah was fielded from the Sasaram seat against Meera Kumar of the Congress. However, BJP’s Khedi Paswan won in this election. After this Ramaiah went to the side line.

In 2017, when the Srujan scam came to light in Bihar, Ramaiah was made the kingpin. An arrest warrant was also issued against him, but he was later relieved by the court. Ramaiah is currently facing a court date in the case.
