Children get sick after having midday meal
On the one hand, to provide nutritious food to children studying in government schools for their overall development along with studies, the government runs the “Midday Meal” scheme, under which nutritious food is provided to school children, but many students are given nutritious food at lunch time. Cases of negligence have come to light in the country. One such case has come to light from Jharkhand’s Dumka district, where around 47 children of Plus Two High School in Mohanpur, Massalia, suffered health problems after eating mid-day meal. All the children were rushed to hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
A lizard was found in the food prepared for mid-day meal. When the lizard fell, the poison spread all over the food. Children ate the same poisonous food. Children’s health deteriorated after eating this lizard food. Some started vomiting and some developed fever. When such a large number of children fell ill together, everyone suspected that there was something wrong with the food. Because many children fell ill after eating the same food.
This facility is for children of class VIII
This mid-day meal arrangement is available only for children up to class eight. Therefore, all children who fall ill study in class 1 to class 8. 47 children of Jees Plus Two High School, Mohanpur, Maslia, Dumka district fell ill after eating mid-day meal. He studied in the school from class 1 to class 12. By the time the school management got to know that a lizard had fallen into the food while serving food, dozens of children had eaten the food. However, later the poisoned food was thrown away.
The whole village was in a frenzy after hearing the news of a lizard falling in the school hall here, the children were immediately admitted to the hospital by ambulance, the condition of some children is now under control, the children are kept under medical supervision, while many children have been discharged by ambulance and As many as 47 school children are being treated for health problems due to eating mid-day meal.
Parents of a large number of school-aged children have held the school cook and the in-charge head teacher responsible for this utter negligence. The families demanded that action should be taken against the school teachers and cooks as well. After receiving information about the matter, Police Station Incharge Anil Kumar Tudu, BDO Azfar Hasnain, Zonal Officer Ranjan Yadav and many other officials reached the Community Health Center Masalia and inquired about the health of the children.
