A major incident took place in Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday. Four people of the same family were killed in Kasdol police station area on suspicion of witchcraft. The murder was done by none other than a neighbor. An atmosphere of fear spread in the area as soon as the information was received. On receiving the information, the police reached and took the three accused into custody and sent the bodies for postmortem. Police are interrogating the accused.
The incident of murder took place in Charcherd village of Kasdol police station area. According to the police, four members of a family living in the village were killed on Thursday evening. Among the dead are two sisters, a brother and a six-month-old baby. They include Chetram (45), Jamuna Bai Kewat, Jamuna Bai’s six-month-old baby and her sister Yashoda Bai Kewat.
Police said that Kasdol police station reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The police took action and took the three suspects into custody. These three are neighbors of the deceased family. Their names are Ramnath Patle, Deepak Patle and Dil Kumar Patle. During the initial interrogation by the police, they said that the family of the deceased suspected witchcraft as the reason for their daughter’s ill health.
