The girls were returning from an event late at night. Meanwhile, five people on three bikes arrived and stopped him and brutalized him. After being released from their clutches, the girls along with the orchestra conductor reached the Gida police station and lodged a complaint. Police cornered one of the accused and shot him in the leg, while arresting four others.
The victim told the police that she was a resident of Mansa district in Punjab. Both the victims are aged 19 and 21 years. She came to UP in search of work and lived in Gorakhpur. Gola was working with an orchestra conductor who lived in the police station area. Yesterday also we went to perform in a program in Ramkola, Kushinagar. From there she was returning on a bike with orchestra conductor Suraj. As soon as they reached the dam located in the Gida Police Station area, five people on three bikes already present there stopped the girls. The orchestra conductor was beaten and driven away, while the girls were tied up and gang-raped.
The accused were identified by a drug addict friend
After a case of brutality was registered against the girls, the police started immediate action. When the police reached the spot with the girls, a young man was lying there in a state of intoxication. While identifying him, the girls said that he also came with the accused but was not involved in the rape incident. He gave the names and addresses of all the accused, which eased the way for the police. He said that we went out drinking at night. The person was very drunk and therefore could not sit on the bike. Meanwhile, girls were seen coming on bikes. Leaving him, his five companions rushed towards the girls and took them away.
Strict action against the accused
Hearing the plight of girls and demanding strict action, SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover said that NSA and gangster action will be taken against all the accused. Will not be spared under any circumstances. Orchestra conductor Suraj is also very distressed after this incident.
Regarding this, SP North Jitendra Srivastav said that police wickets have been installed from Nausad to Alone Bandhe. Police personnel will be continuously deployed. Dial 112 vehicles will patrol continuously during the night. There will be a strict police presence till five o’clock in the morning. CO and SO will supervise this. Better security will be provided to every visitor. The statements of both the victim girls have been recorded in the court.
