Baba Amarnath
On Saturday, 13 thousand devotees had darshan of Baba Barfani in the holy cave with the slogan of Bam Bam Bhole. Let us tell you that Amarnath Yatra has started under tight security in South Kashmir Himalayas. The first batch of pilgrims left from the two base camps at Baltal and Nunavan to begin the pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave temple located at an altitude of 3,880 meters.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the devotees on the start of the Amarnath Yatra and said that seeing Baba Barfani gives immense energy to Shiva devotees.

Devotees should not face inconvenience
Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Central Government is committed to ensure a safe, smooth and pleasant journey to the Amarnath Cave Temple and is making all possible arrangements to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience.
In a post on social media platform X, Amit Shah said that the Amarnath Yatra is an eternal symbol of the tradition and continuity of Indian culture. This divine journey has started from today. I wish all devotees good luck for Baba’s Darshan and Pooja. Our government under the leadership of PM Modi is committed to ensure a safe, smooth and pleasant journey for the devotees. The yatra will continue till 19th August
The journey started early in the morning with two routes. The first is the 48 km long traditional Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag and the second is the 14 km long Baltal route in Ganderbal. The 52-day pilgrimage will end on August 19.
“On the first day, 13,736 devotees reached the cave temple to have darshan of the naturally formed ice Shivalinga,” an official said. The pilgrims included 3,300 women, 52 children, 102 monks and 682 security personnel, who reached the temple through both routes.
The LG bid farewell to the pilgrims
Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of 4,603 pilgrims from Yatri Niwas Base Camp in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. Strict security arrangements have been made for smooth planning of the yatra. Thousands of security personnel from police, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and other paramilitary forces have been deployed along the yatra route. Aerial surveillance is also being done.
Meanwhile, PSU ONGC has set up two 100-bed hospitals at two Amarnath base camps in Kashmir and has announced that they will remain functional even after the annual yatra. Last year more than 4.5 lakh devotees visited the Amarnath cave temple.
