Elections are to be held on 90 assembly seats in Haryana on October 5. The last day of nomination is September 12. Even though the political parties have not announced the names of candidates in many seats, the contest in many seats has been interesting. In some places the leaders who share power are facing each other while in some places people of the same family will be seen competing with each other.

There are many such families in Haryana, which have been playing an important role in politics here for years. Bansheelal, Bhajanlal and Devilal families are among them. Someone from the family has been active in Haryana politics for years. Even today members of this family are playing a role in politics. Abhay Chautala’s INLD has decided to contest elections in the state this time in alliance with BSP. Dushyant Chautala’s Janayak Janata Party has formed an alliance with Chandrasekhar’s Azad Samaj Party.

The Congress wanted to enter the fray in the state along with the Aam Aadmi Party but due to the delay in the agreement, the talks could not be reached. After this AAP party announced the list of candidates. Along with this, the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been in power for the last 10 years in Haryana, has single-handedly contested 90 assembly seats. The party has announced the names of candidates for 87 seats. Brainstorming is still going on for 3 seats.

Devilal has been Deputy PM twice and CN twice.

Devilal, who founded the Indian National Lok Dal, has been the CM of Haryana twice and the Deputy Prime Minister of India twice. Indira Gandhi also jailed him during the Emergency, but after his release in 1977, he contested on a Janata Party ticket and became the chief minister of the state. However, he resigned from the post in 1979 due to differences in the party. He once again became the CM of the state for the second time in 1987. When both VP Singh and Chandrasekhar were Prime Ministers, he held the post of Deputy PM.

These are the sons of the goddess, the family is divided into two parts.

Devilal had four sons. In which Omprakash Chautala formed his own party Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). His son Abhay Singh Chautala is taking it forward. His second son, Ajay Chautala’s son Dushyant Chautala, formed the Janayak Janata Party (JJP). Dushyant defeated Kuldeep Bishnoi from Hisar Lok Sabha seat in 2014 and became the youngest MP. After this, after a split in the party in 2018, Abhay Chautala expelled both Ajay’s sons Dushyant and Digvijay from the party.

After leaving INLD, Dushyant formed a party named JJP in 2018 and later supported BJP in 2019 elections and became Deputy CM of the state. However, this time before the election, he withdrew support from the BJP and the party decided to go solo. While his second son Ranjit Singh was in BJP. However, not getting a ticket from the party, he has announced to contest as an independent candidate from Raniya Assembly.

Devilal’s third son Ravi Chautala, son of late Pratap Singh and daughter-in-law Sunaina Chautala are in INLD. She is the National General Secretary of the Mahila Morcha of the party. Aditya Devilal, son of Devilal’s fourth son Jagdish Chandra, has recently left the BJP and joined the INLD. The party has fielded him from Dubwali assembly seat. Aditya recently resigned from the post of chairman of the Haryana Marketing Board and is the second member of the Devilal family to quit the BJP within a week.

A few days ago, state energy and prisons minister Ranjit Chautala also left the ruling party. Devilal ie the fourth generation of the Chautala family is active in Haryana politics. However, with time, there was a rift in the Chautala family and both the brothers went their separate ways. Due to this political disunity, families are now pitted against each other in elections.

Aditya Chautala Vs Digvijay Chautala

Abhay Chautala’s party Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has given ticket to Aditya Chautala from Dabwali seat. Against this, Dushyant Chautala has fielded his brother Digvijay Chautala from this seat from JGP. There is a war between uncle and nephew on this seat. Jagdish’s son Aditya recently quit BJP and joined INLD.

Dushyant Chautala Vs Abhay Chautala

If we talk about Uchana Kala seat, Devilal’s grandson and Ajit Singh Chautala’s son Dushyant Chautala is in the fray. This seat is being considered as one of the hottest seats in Haryana politics this time as only Jat candidates are winning this seat and the battle is going on between the Chautala and Chaudhary families. In 2019, Dushyant Chautala defeated Chaudhary Virender Singh’s wife Premlata.

In 2014, Premalata defeated Dushyant. However, Dushyant believes that the people of Uchana Kala will once again put their faith in him and not only Uchana Kala but JJP will register a bumper victory in Haryana. However, if sources are to be believed, a fight between uncle and nephew can also be seen in Ucha’s art. It is believed that Abhay Chautala may also contest from Uchana Kala in addition to Allenabad seat. In such a situation, a battle between Abhay Singh Chautala and Dushyant Chautala can be seen in Uchana Kala.

Arjun Chautala Vs Ranjit Singh Chautala Vs Amit Sihag

The Rania assembly seat will also see a fight between uncle and nephew, because on one side Abhay Chautala has fielded his son Arjun Chautala from Rania seat and on the other hand Ranjit Singh Chautala has decided to contest as an independent. The sitting BJP has not given ticket to former Haryana minister and former BJP leader Ranjit Singh Chautala. After this he resigned from BJP. He also announced to contest as an independent candidate. Along with this, Congress has given ticket to Abhay Chautala’s cousin Amit Sihag on this seat.

Bansilal was close to Sanjay Gandhi

Considered close to Indira Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi, Bansilal also held the posts of Defense Minister, Railways and Transport Minister of the country. Along with this, Bansilal has also been the CM of Haryana 4 times. In 1996, he split from the Congress and formed the Haryana Vikas Party. However, he returned to the Congress in 2004. Bansilal is also credited with setting up the Maruti factory in Gurugram, Haryana. However, it is also said about him that he did not like journalists and the press. He was counted among those close to Sanjay Gandhi during the crisis, who was known for taking drastic measures during that time.

Aniruddha vs Shruti

In the second list for the Haryana assembly elections, the Congress has announced Anirudh Chaudhary as its candidate for the high-profile Tosham seat in Mahendragarh district. This seat is occupied by the family of Haryana CM Bansi Lal. But, this time the election will be fought over Bansilal’s legacy. The BJP has fielded Shruti Chaudhary, daughter of Bansilal’s son Surendra Singh and Kiran Chaudhary, from this seat.

At the same time, Anirudh Chaudhary is the son of Bansilal’s second son Ranveer Mahendra. That is, Aniruddha is Shruti’s cousin. In such a situation, the Tosham seat has become a brother versus sister contest. Till now Kiran Chaudhary was a Congress MLA from Tosham, but he resigned and joined the BJP. Now the party has given ticket to his daughter Sriti Chaudhary. The Tosham seat, which is considered a Jat dominated seat, has not been won by the BJP yet.

The seat is considered to be dominated by the family of former CM Bansilal. The seat has been contested 14 times since the formation of Haryana, of which Bansilal’s family won 12 times. Bansilal, his son Surendra Singh and daughter-in-law Kiran Chaudhary won the seat. Shruti Chowdhury has been MP for one time winning from Mahendragarh. On the other hand, Anirudh Chaudhary is also seeking votes from the people as the grandson of Bansilal.

Bhajanlal’s sons in various parties

Bhajanlal was the CM of the state three times and also the Agriculture Minister at the Centre. For almost 20 years, from 1979 to 1999, Devi Lal and Bhajan Lal were in power in Haryana. In 2005, the Congress replaced Bhajan Lal and made Hooda the CM, while in 2007 he formed the ‘Haryana Janhit Congress’. After Bhajan Lal’s death, the party entered into an alliance with the BJP for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, which ended in August 2014 but the party merged with the Congress in 2016 after nearly 9 years.

Kuldeep Bishnoi has once again joined the BJP. He was blamed for the defeat of Congress candidate Ajay Maken in Haryana. In these elections, he voted in favor of the JJP and the BJP supported independent candidate Karthikeya, after which the party removed him from all posts. After resigning from Congress on August 3, he joined BJP the next day. Today Bhajanlal’s two sons Kuldeep Bishnoi and Chandra Mohan are in different parties. This time BJP has given ticket to Kuldeep Bishnoi’s son Bhavi Bishnoi.

Kuldeep Bishnoi holds sway over the Bishnoi community, whose influence extends to about 11 assembly constituencies. These are Adampur, Uklana, Nalwa, Hisar, Tohana, Sirsa, Dabwali, Allenabad, Fatehabad, Ratia and Loharu. At the same time, Bhajanlal’s elder son Chandra Mohan is positioning himself as a contender for Panchkula on a Congress ticket. Apart from this, expressing confidence in Bhajanlal’s brother Dudaram, BJP has again given him ticket from Fatehabad seat. This time, three members of the Bhajanlal family are in the fray, including Dudaram, Chandramohan and Bhavya Bishnoi.
