SAF, a unit of Advanced Weapons Equipment India Limited, is a favorite of all three armies. After the order to make 2000 machine guns, the workers here have started working quickly.

These machine guns are being used in everything from tanks to helicopters and naval ships. SAF construction officials say they are very happy. On receiving this export order for Lagu Nimran, SAF General Manager Surendra said that a big order has been received for the export of Bipod MG. He said that in 2023-24, SAF had a production of Rs 235 crore.

Last year around Rs. 190 crore was produced, for the first time in small scale construction Rs. More than 200 crores have been produced. Major products manufactured in the SAF are of various types including revolvers, joint venture carbines, MG beltfed machine guns. Giving information about the medium machine gun, the General Manager of Small Manufacturing said that the caliber of this gun is 7.62×51 mm. The length of the gun is 1255 mm and its weight is about 11 kg. There is an out magazine and the barrel weighs about 3 kg. The range of this medium machine gun is about 2 kilometers i.e. 1800 meters. As for the gun fire, it can fire 650 to 1000 rounds per minute.
