Rescue work is going on after the Meerut accident

The main reason behind the collapse of a three-storey building in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut and the death of 10 people has come to light. This building built in 300 square yards of land had only one pillar and that pillar was also near the gate. The whole building stood on a wall of only four inches. The big thing is that even though the wall was so weak, preparations were underway to build another floor on top of it. Because it was raining continuously in Meerut. Due to which the foundation of the house was filled with water. This caused the weakened walls to collapse.

In the accident that took place on Saturday evening, the bodies of 10 people were recovered till Sunday morning, while one or two people are still trapped under the debris. A rescue operation is being carried out to save them. According to the police, the ground floor of this house was built around 50 years ago. However, later the landlord Alauddin opened a dairy farm on this floor and built an upper floor for his accommodation. After Alauddin’s death his four sons Sajid, Nadeem, Naeem and Shakir started running the dairy.

The floors were simply built on weak foundations.

There was less living space upstairs so one more floor was built. Initially the house was built without pillars according to Deri. Even the walls were only half made of brick. In such a situation, as the upper floor was built, the walls and foundation weakened. These people were collecting dung and other garbage from the dairy near their walls. As it has been raining continuously for several days here, the rainwater started accumulating in this garbage and seeped into the foundation of the house. Due to which dampness was observed from foundation to walls.

Accident due to dairy

A small part of the house also collapsed a week ago due to this dampness. However, at that time the family ignored him. After this the whole house sat down. According to the police, considering the situation, the Municipal Corporation is also getting other houses checked. In fact, many such dairies have opened in populated areas in Meerut. From where animal waste is either being thrown into drains or deposited near their houses. Due to which drains are blocked daily.

When 40 people escaped

According to the police, the accident took place at around 4.30 pm on Saturday. It was lucky that the building collapsed an hour earlier and only 10 people died. If the same incident had happened at 5.30 pm, at least 40 people would have been buried under the debris. Police investigation revealed that more than 35 people used to come to his house at 5.30 pm to collect milk. Now all these people are thanking God that they survived this accident.
