Old Sodhi of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’
The TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’ made actor Gurcharan Singh famous in every household. Although she is no longer a part of the show, she has played the character of Sodhi in the show for many years. Even today people know him less by his real name and more by his nickname. Recently he revealed that he is facing financial crisis. Gurucharan says that he has not eaten anything for 34 days and is only on a liquid diet.
In an interview to Siddharth Kannan, Gurucharan said, “I have been looking for work in Mumbai for a month. I think people love me and want to see me. I also want to earn money so that I can manage my expenses, take care of my mother and pay off my debt. I want to do something good, I want to start another innings. He continued, “I need money, I have to pay EMI and credit card. There are some good people who lend me money, but my debt is mounting. “I want to work because I want to take care of my elderly parents.”
Gurucharan has a loan of Rs 1.2 crore
In the interview, he also said, “I have stopped eating for 34 days. I take liquid food like milk, tea, coconut water. In the last four years I have seen only failures. I tried doing business and many other things, but all failed. Now I am tired and now I have to earn something.” He also said, “I have a debt. I have taken 60 lakh rupees from bank and credit card company. Apart from this I have taken the same amount from my acquaintances. I need a total of Rs. 1.2 crore loan to be repaid.”

Now Balwinder Singh is seen in the role of Sodhi in this show.
